Who? Anyone who is interested in downtown York

What? Information sharing on what’s happening downtown

When? Wednesday, February 24, 8 – 9:30 a.m.

Where? The Studio at the Strand (entrance on Philadelphia Street)

Why? These quarterly presentations will give you a chance to hear all about what is happening in downtown York. Downtown Inc committee chairs will report on their work, the Roger Brooks Implementation Team will give an update on their efforts, and Mayor Bracey and her department directors will present on current projects within the central business district.

Yesterday was a big news day for Y-FI. Not only did we cover the York Saint Patrick’s Day Parade press conference but we were interviewed for an evening news story by ABC 27 WHTM. Since our initial rollout at Central Market we have been getting some press from the local newspapers.  This is a huge help for us as we spread the word about our Y-FI project. The Central Penn Business Journal wrote a great article about our startup, Y-FI.

Bob Mock said he wants businesses to think small when they think wireless Internet.

If they do, it could mean York would be the first city in Central Pennsylvania to have public Wi-
Fi in its downtown business district.

“My goal is by spring, when people are out and about, to have the square and Central Market wired,” Mock said.
